Morgan Dollar
The Morgan Dollar is one of the most famous U.S. silver coins, first minted in 1878 during the silver boom of the American West. Designed by George T. Morgan, the obverse features a detailed profile of Lady Liberty, while the reverse depicts a bald eagle with outstretched wings. Struck in 90% silver and 10% copper, Morgan Dollars were heavily circulated in the late 19th century and widely used in the Old West. Production ended in 1921, but due to popular demand, the coin was reissued in 2021 as a collector’s piece. Its historic appeal and classic design make it a staple for silver investors and numismatists alike.
