Weinman’s classic Walking Liberty, showing Lady Liberty striding toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag and carrying branches symbolizing peace and strength. The inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issue. The reverse design varies by year. Coins minted from 1986–2021 (Type 1) feature John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle with a shield, olive branch, arrows, and 13 stars representing the original colonies.
